Maasai personalized dog collar with custom embossing has initially been inspired by East African savannah wilderness. In its basic ocher variation the collar has all earthy colors, accentuated with golden embossing and brass details. Both medium large, large and giant breeds can wear this collar. It is very strong, elegant and adequate for everyday use. You can choose between beige and black leather padding. Foreground leather (i.e. upper layer) can be beige, ocher, red, black, green, ice blue, baby pink etc. Please advise which color you want and your dog’s name in order note field on the checkout page.
The Maasai have had a long relationship with lions. Once a rite of passage for a warrior to prove his bravery by killing a lion but nowadays the relationship between lions and Maasai has changed and they live alongside them and help protect them. Lions are an important part of the ecosystem. The Maasai community teaches new generations about the importance of lions and how to live with them by not destroying their habitat and avoid human-lion conflict. A wider breeding space for them has allowed lions to thrive in their natural home.
Sizing
Collar in the gallery is XL size. Collar has 5 eyelets, approximately an inch apart. XL size has the first eyelet placed on 21.5”, and fifth eyelet on 25.5”. Not all the embossing patterns can fit onto each size. Please check the dropdown menu for feasible embossing/size combos.

You should measure your dog before ordering
Sauri leather dog collars are compact – firm but not stiff. Leather edges were hand skived, polished and painted for more elegant look and supple feel around the neck. To avoid riveting on collar’s inner side we hand stitch the buckle part. This traditional leather crafting skill makes Sauri dog collars especially well suited for dogs with fine hair and/or sensitive skin.

Care & maintenance
For regular care you should gently wipe off the collar from mud and similar dirt using a semi wet cloth followed by a dry one. Collar’s foreground leather should be treated with a neutral water resistant leather protectant spray & leather impregnation spray. Avoid soaking the collar with water.
